MSR90 Reader for Android is a utility for receiving and parsing input from a compatible magnetic-stripe reader, organizing records, and exporting CSV files. This policy describes the Android app.
Magnetic-stripe records
The app stores record sets and magnetic-stripe records in its local database on your device. The app does not send those records to TCool LTD. Magnetic-stripe data can contain sensitive personal or payment information. Only capture data when you are authorized to do so, and protect access to your device.
If you export a CSV file, you choose where to save it through Android’s document picker. Copies saved outside the app are handled by Android and the destination you select. You can delete records or record sets within the app. Android controls what happens to local app data when you clear app storage or uninstall the app.
Trial state and Android backup
The free trial tracks successful records and uses a derived device-binding value to validate the trial state. The app reads the Android ID and app-signing information locally to calculate that value. It does not transmit the raw Android ID or the derived binding value to a TCool-operated service.
The trial ledger and derived binding value are kept in a limited trial-state snapshot. Android Auto Backup rules include this snapshot for cloud backup and device transfer, subject to your Android backup settings and device capabilities; Android may process the snapshot under those settings. The app’s magnetic-stripe record database is not included in those explicit backup rules. Android backup and transfer behavior is controlled by Android and your device settings.
Google Play purchases
The app may offer premium_lifetime, a one-time purchase through Google Play that unlocks the app’s paid features. Google Play handles the checkout and purchase account. The app checks purchase status through Google Play Billing and stores a local verified-entitlement flag; it does not store the purchase token or your full payment-card details. Google handles information under its own Privacy Policy and applicable terms.
Accounts and tracking
The app does not require a TCool account to use its local record features. The Android app does not include an advertising or product-analytics SDK. Google Play and Android may separately process information needed to provide their platform and billing services.
Data retention and your choices
Records remain in the app’s local database until you delete them or remove the app’s local data. Trial state is stored separately and may be included in Android backup as described above. You can manage Android backup in your device settings. Exported files are managed by you and the app or service where you save them.
Changes to this policy
If the app’s data practices change, this page will be updated to describe the relevant changes.
